Part 4 Adventures in Weaver Hollow: The Perfect Place to call Home

Part 4 Adventures in Weaver Hollow: The Perfect Place to call home.

After my Grandfathers funeral was over the vibe of the house sort of shifted for me there was definitely a void with him being gone. Things just wasn't the same. I couldn't walk in my grandparents room with out leaving in tears. We stayed to help my family with the process of going through his personal items and removing them from the house. That was hard but it helped us on a way. My husband and I decided that we were ready to continue our journey and find the perfect piece of property, settle down, and begin building our forever home. My husband took the lead in this project. We had our list of things we wanted in a piece of property like : natural drinkable water, lots of trees and untouched land, wild edibles, abundant Wild life, great soil, unrestricted land and room to expand.
You guys when I tell you he only looked for a day or two then BOOM! He got a hit. He found  19 acres in a place called Hampshire TN. If you, like me haven't ever heard of the place its somewhere in between Columbia TN and Summertown TN.  We were excited because this placed us in the middle of out Westpoint TN Family and friends  and our Nashville family and friends. This cut our drive time to Nashville to a hour and half instead of 2 hours and out drive to westpoint to a little over an hour. My husband went and met with the land owner and immediately fell on love with it. We were in love with the pictures he had on his website. There were ferns everywhere and a natural spring that started on our property and ran through the whole bottom of the hollow. It was gorgeous property and just what we were looking for.
On his return from meeting the owner and touring the property he was excited but he didn't want to close on it until he checked with me. I was like, "What are you waiting for!?!?" "Let's do this!" He called the land owner and we set up a day to meet and sign the paperwork. We were excited! To have our own  property on unrestricted
Land. We could build our home exactly the way we planned to, run solar power, and spring water to our home. Not only were we excited, the kids loved it also. We began camping there in the summer just to get a feel of the property and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
While at the property we explored it taking hikes up and down the hillsides, making new trailers we went through bushes and brush and climbing over massive logs that had been sitting there for years.

We loved being  out in nature. For me it was and still is very therapeutic. Being near the water is relaxing I can easily slip into meditation while sitting by the spring. From this experience my husband and I learned alot about each others strengths and weaknesses, the majority of the time we worked together to make these weekend trips as comfortable and exciting for the kids as it was for us. Obtaining this property for us was more than a getaway spot or place to run and hide. For us this was the biggest investment into our future and our children's future, and thier childrens future. We want this place to be a home for our children now and the generations to come so that they never feel as though they have nowhere to go they will always be able to come home at Weaver Hollow.
